One of the best parts of ASSP is learning from organizations that are leading by example.
Recently, Sacramento ASSP members visited Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s Chico facility for a behind-the-scenes look at how sustainability is integrated into daily operations. The tour provided a unique opportunity to see how environmental stewardship, innovation, and business performance can work together to create a lasting impact. Sierra Nevada’s commitment to sustainability extends throughout its operations and serves as a great example of the important role the “E” plays in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).

- Capturing and reusing CO₂ generated during the brewing process.
- Wastewater treatment and water conservation efforts.
- Organic estate agriculture, including on-site barley, hops, gardens, and rotational crops that support sustainable farming practices.
